"Ghosts.
Do you believe in ghosts? I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts or not.
I remember when I was in high school, I saw a movie called Poltergeist.
Most of the movies in that.
Pardon me? Most of the ghosts in that movie, you couldn't see them.
They were invisible.
And then there was also Ghostbusters and those ghosts you could see them.
I think that's the classic image of a ghost is the Ghostbusters image.
But really these things, if they exist, what are they? I remember I was working in a school in Canada once it was late at night, everybody else was gone and I heard a noise outside my classroom.
I walked outside the classroom and looked down the hall and I thought I saw something move around the corner.
I walked to the corner and looked down the next hall and I'm sure I saw his hand disappearing around the corner of a wall.
Of course, I went to look and I saw nothing, there was nothing there.
Maybe that was a ghost.
I don't know.
I guess that's part of it.
Ghosts are, I don't know for me.
What about you do? You believe in ghosts or have you seen ghosts? I've talked to a few of my students and they tell me they've seen ghosts.
It sounds kind of spooky, doesn't it? And if there are ghosts, why are there ghosts? What are these ghosts doing? And can they affect us? Do they have any powers? It's all good fun and makes for a great ghost story.
But right now is not that time of year.
So let's save our ghost stories until next October."
