Socks When I was a boy, I used to wonder why I needed socks.
I really enjoyed going barefoot, but it didn't take me long to realize if I don't wear my socks,
my shoes are going to get really stinky.
So I think the main reason we use socks is to prevent our shoes from getting stinky.
But they also stopped us from getting blisters on our feet.
I used to get blisters once in a while and they really hurt and they took a while to get better.
Now I wear socks around my workplace, but I don't wear shoes indoors and I find I get holes in my socks.
I think I'm getting holes in my socks because I don't have shoes if I wore indoor shoes that would protect the socks
and they wouldn't get holes in them as it is, I have to sew up the holes in my socks from time to time
because I don't want to buy a new pair of socks every time I get a hole in my socks,
that's why I like to sew them up just to stop wasting things.
However, sometimes there's too many holes and the socks are too old.
What can you do when your socks get too old? I was looking for some really interesting ideas.
Most people use them for rags.
They use them for cleaning around the house or dusting or polishing the car.
But when I was a boy, we made puppets with the socks and then we made puppet shows.
If you get some buttons you can sew the buttons onto the tip of the sock a
nd those become the eyes, put your hand in the sock
and push the tip of the sock in a little bit
and that makes the mouth and there you have it an instant puppet.
You can use markers or other decorations to make it more lively.
But another use I saw for socks was what do they call it? A draft stopper,
Get one long sock and put all the other old socks inside it.
And it's a nice long two and put it along the bottom of the door.
And that way, drafts don't come in in the wintertime and make you feel cold.
You can seal up your room and make it warm with these draft stoppers.
